Feitoria will be a hotel with 50 rooms in the center of Portimão

One of the plans of Dutch businessman Erik de Vlieger, based in the Algarve, is to create a hotel in Portimão, in the old Feitoria building, on Rua Padre Filipe, parallel to Rua Santa Isabel, where he
had already invested in the redevelopment of the Mabor building.

According to Arnold Aarsen, from Studio Arte, the studio based in Portimão responsible for the project, 50 rooms are planned for this unit, a restaurant with a terrace, reception and open patios, which will include nature. «We continue to have the same organization, with smaller patios to create ventilation and lighting.

There are four floors and around 3900 meters of construction», said architect Joana Dalmau Pinto. The intention is to maintain what is built, but a small expansion will be made in one of the areas. From what «barlavento» found out, the concept used will be more industrial, especially because the identity of the building must be maintained. It will therefore be inspired by Portuguese modernist architecture from the 50s and 60s of the 20th century.
